Introduction
Khumai Dada Trek is a short trek from where you can start your journey to connect with nature. Day 1: Pokhara to Khumai
Destination: Pokhara to Khumai Dada
Duration: 7-8 hours
Peak Altitude: 830 meters to 3,245 meters
Start your day early at 6:00, with a jeep ride from Hemja to Ghachok (1,254 m), a scenic village surrounded by terraced fields. From Ghachok, begin your trek with a gradual ascent toward Saripakha (1,700 m), a small village that offers stunning views of the lush hills.
Continue to Hilekharka (2,160 m), where you can take a lunch break and enjoy the area’s tranquility. Afterward, ascend through forests and open clearings to Chichemle Kharka (2,645 m), where the trail offers stunning vistas of the Annapurna range. The final stretch leads to Khumai Dada(3,245 m), a breathtaking ridge that provides panoramic views of Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre. Spend the night at Khumai Dada, soaking in the serenity of the mountains.
Day 2: Khumai Dada to Korcha and Return
Destination: Khumai Dada to Korcha and back to Hemja
Duration: 6-7 hours of trekking
Peak Altitude: 3,245 m to 3,682 m (optional hike to Korcha)
On day 2, wake up around 3:30 am, get ready for the next hike, and begin your day with an optional one-hour hike to Korcha (3,682 m). A higher viewpoint offers more stunning and expansive views of the Annapurna range. This short trek is highly recommended for those looking to enhance their trekking experience. After exploring Korcha, return to Khumai Dada for breakfast. Spend some time at Khumai Dada take a break and start your descent from Khumai Dada, by choosing one of the following return routes:
- Same Trail: Retrace your steps through Chichemle Kharka, Hilekharka, and Saripakha. This familiar path allows you to enjoy the downhill trek, which features scenic landscapes and villages. From Ghachok, where a jeep will take you back to Hemja, ending your two-day adventure.
- Alternate Trail: For a more adventurous return, take the Tatopani/Bhurjung Khola trail, which offers diverse scenery, riverside views, and natural hot springs. This route provides a fresh perspective and a relaxing end to your journey.
