AMS

Altitude sickness, or AMS, affects people ascending rapidly to heights over 2,500 meters due to lower oxygen levels. It ranges from mild AMS to severe HAPE and HACE. Symptoms include headache, nausea, and fatigue. Prevention involves gradual acclimatization, hydration, and a high-carb diet, while severe cases require immediate descent and possible medication.
